# Audit a Drupal site's SEO with PageAudit

Install the Metatag and Simple XML Sitemap modules, set the title and description patterns and audit the page.

PageAudit · Updated 2026-10-16

## Step 1. Install the modules

In the site folder, run the commands. Metatag writes the title and description; Simple XML Sitemap serves /sitemap.xml, which the Drupal cron regenerates.

```sh
composer require drupal/metatag drupal/simple_sitemap
drush en metatag simple_sitemap -y
drush simple-sitemap:generate
```

## Step 2. Set the patterns

In /admin/config/search/metatag, set the default title and description of each content type. Drupal's robots.txt sits in the site root: check that it does not block public pages.

## Step 3. Audit the published page

Change the address to a content page. The answer brings the score, the counts and each error with its fix. No key: 10 free audits a day.

```sh
curl -sS -X POST https://pageaudit.online/api/audit \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{"url": "https://example.com/"}'
```
